This year’s track day was a huge success! Taking place at Shannonville Motorsport Park near Belleville, Ontario, customers from all three of our brands, BMW, MINI and Motorrad took part in a day full of instruction and fun on the track. Having rented out the entire Shannonville track with one half devoted to car drivers and the other half to motorcycle riders, participants were able to put their driving skills to the test for an entire day.

Our car day began with all drivers getting an in-depth classroom session where our instructors went over advanced driving techniques that would be applied on the track. It continued on the skid pad where drivers went through various driving exercises where they were able to improve their ability to drive their vehicles to their limit. After completing their skid pad exercises, the cars were let loose on the track for the rest of the day! Once on the track, drivers were able to first be a passenger in their own vehicle in order to see exactly what their car was capable of under the instructor’s driving. They then got behind the wheel themselves with the instructors riding shotgun. Some of our drivers may have had a little too much fun on the track in fact as our trusty, expert mechanics were put to work to help them get back on the road. Just all a part of the full-service day we provide at our track days!

Our motorrad day also began with instruction with the riders walking the track in order to go over the entry, apex and exit of every turn as well as any possible hazards. After familiarizing themselves with the track, riders were able to set out on their bikes under the watchful eyes of our instructors – Motorrad Sales Manager James Collins and Endras Motorrad Superbike Racer Andrew Nelson – who helped each rider improve their riding, cornering and passing abilities. It was definitely a treat for our customers to have Andrew Nelson, one of Canada’s best superbike riders, show them the ropes and give them tips on how to improve their riding. Near the end of the day, our more advanced riders tried to keep up with Andrew as he raced a BMW S1000RR around the track!
